Bipolar

People who are affected by bipolar disorder have cyclical mood swings from extreme happiness (mania) to either normal or depressed. Although the cycle length varies greatly from person to person, the median cycle length is 13 weeks. Symptoms of depression include hopelessness, apathy (loss of interest), lethargy (lack of energy), sadness, feelings of worthlessness and guilt, etc. Symptoms of mania include high energy, distractability, excitability, inflated self-esteem and delusions of grandeur, rapid speech, racing thoughts, and insomnia. While happiness may seem less dangerous than depression, mania is often more severe and destructive than depression, leading to problems at work and school as well as relationship problems.

Hernia How does one manage hernia?

The commonest use of the word “hernia” is for inguinal hernia. There are other different kinds of hernia, but I will discuss inguinal hernia here. The lower abdomen has a canal on both sides of the midline, called the inguinal canal. A nerve passes through this canal along with some other structures. The inguinal canal helps these structures to pass from inside the abdomen to outside the abdomen.

A weakness in the abdominal muscles can make the opening of this canal wider than normal. When this happens, organs of the abdomen like the intestine or fat can pass through the inguinal canal and can be seen as a lump in the groin. This is called an inguinal hernia. Sometimes, the lump can only be seen upon coughing or lifting heavy weights.

Mild cases of inguinal hernia can be corrected by strengthening of the abdominal muscles. Severe cases will require surgery to push back the organs back into the abdomen. The inguinal canal is then strengthened using a mesh. What treatment will be required in your case can only be decided after examining you. I would advise you to consult a doctor for the same.
