Tonsils and Bad Breath

Doctor I have been suffering from bad breath for almost 14years and it's due to tonsil stones. I tried to get rid of it by removing the tonsil stones with Q-tips and I underwent several medications but the tonsil stone keeps on forming. It's killing my self esteem and confidence when talking to people.
What should I do?

Infections in the tonsils are a common cause of bad breath. Removing the tonsil stones or plaques by yourself using Q-tips may not be effective. As you say yourself, the stones keep forming. Removal of your tonsils may help you. If you are at least 15-20 years of age, removal of the tonsils should not cause you any problems.

You have been trying to treat yourself for 14 years and it has not helped at all. I always advise people not to self medicate. Self medication can not only be ineffective, but it can also have harmful effects in some cases.

You need to consult an ENT specialist to decide whether to remove your tonsils. I would also advise you to consult a dentist to see if there is any other problem in your teeth that is causing bad breath.
